In Norse mythology there are some tales describing Odin's quest for the Odhroerir, a magic mead brewed from the blood of the wise god Kvasir.  It is said Odin uses his cunning and magic to procure the brew over three days; the three horns represent the three draughts of the magical mead
Etched on both sides of axe head and mounted on our hardwood leather wrapped handle complete with tough leather, double stitched and embossed cover with belt loop and 3 stud fastenings for safekeeping.
18-inch / 46 cm long, carbon steel tempered sharp blade, cutting edge size is 6inches / 15cm x 6 inch / 15cm top edge.  Moderately sharp head may be sharpened further with whetstone and water, total weight approx 1.040 grams, a very nice solid heft.
The runes from top to bottom are Othala,land of birth / Mannaz, mankind / The serpent/  Algiz, protection/ Tiwaz,Victory/Hagalaz,freedom of air/Gebo,gift/Frey.mother rune and wealth.
